Eyebrows that would make Camilla Belle, Solange Knowles, and Lily Collins (the high priestesses of the eyebrow community) stop in their tracks and ask me my secret. Brows that Frida Kahlo herself would paint and hang just above Diego's latest creation. Brows that…Okay, you get it, I want some powerful, thicc brows. My current brow potion has been a mix of Boy Brow, Benefit Foolproof Brow Powder, and an Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz Pencil. Four hours and a magnifying mirror later—BAM!—my eyebrow dreams are fulfilled. It wasn't until two weeks ago when the talented makeup artist Katie Jane Hughes popped by the Hearst tower to give me a brow glow-up that everything changed. Hughes introduced Glossier's newest brow product entitled Brow Flick. It's a microfine pen, like an eyeliner for your brows, that works to define the arch, extend the length, and turn you into a bright-eyed bushy-browed queen. Boy Brow came out four years ago (feel old yet?) and is meant to refine brows rather than add more depth to sparse areas like this new product does. However, the duo work together to give you the complete brow package. Since Hughes gave me a few tips and tricks on how to use the new product, I've been using it everyday. It's safe to say I'm living my best brow life. I've cut down my routine by just using the Brow Flick and a clear gel. More time means I'm arriving to work early, my taxes are done for 2019, and my credit score is skyrocketing. At first, the Brow Slick pen is a little tricky to get the hang of but shouldn't spook future brow stars. While it looks like a pen eyeliner, you should not use it like your penning a letter above your eyes. It's all about using the tip to create feathery strokes. Hughes recommends using small light swipes in your most sparse areas. She added that you shouldn't push down on the pen but rather use your wrists to lightly add small lines that mimic natural hairs. The visor-shaped ShowrShield is meant to protect your face from water while you shower. According to showrshield.com, the unconventional product protects freshly-applied makeup, eyelash extensions and microbladed brows. Despite its gimmicky nature, the reviewer found that the ShowrShield actually works, thanks to a one-size-fits-all adjustable Velcro strap and curved edges. "After I detangled and washed all the conditioner out of my hair, I got out of the shower and took the ShowrShield off. Immediately I noticed that nothing was different. The makeup was exactly the same as when I got into the shower, so I was very pleasantly surprised," the Business Insider reviewer wrote. "If I am running late for work or a date, applying makeup can be time consuming and stressful, especially when I already have my previously-applied look still intact from earlier and just need a quick shower for my hair and body. Attempting to prolong my makeup application, I would stand in the shower awkwardly using my hands as a makeshift shield to prevent water from touching my face. It did not work!" She added, "Not only was this technique ineffective, it prevented me from using my hands to properly shower or shampoo hair. If you have experienced the same frustration, there is a solution!
