By now, most of us are well-accustomed with the wonders of Korean skin-care products. My robust nighttime routine is complete with a cleansing balm, toner, essence, ampoule, and countless sheet masks straight from Seoul. (I've literally carried several of them back with me.) All help me achieve the clear, glass-like skin of my favorite K-pop stars. But what about the makeup that gives them their equally as enviable ombre lips, flushed cheeks, and sparkly lids? Although idols' makeup artists are fans of Western beauty brands, like Nars and Maybelline, their kits are filled with amazing cosmetics from brands based in South Korea, such as 3CE, VDL, and Espoir, too. I may or may not be speaking from all my experiences getting distracted before interviews with K-pop stars by what their team is using for touchups.

It's about time we show Korean makeup brands some stateside love. Plus, chances are many of them are already on your radar for their skin-care offerings — do Innisfree, Banila Co, and Missha sound familiar?

Although I have some personal favorites, I asked experts in Seoul's beauty community to share their ultimate Korean makeup picks. Keep scrolling to find out their go-to non-drying lip tints, dewy foundations, and glittery eye shadows. No matter what your makeup vibe is, you're sure to find some new staples on this list.

Where To Get Bésame's 'Sleeping Beauty' Makeup Collection, Because It's A Total Dream - Elite Daily

Posted: 22 Aug 2019 11:21 AM PDT

If Princess Aurora is one of your all-time favorite Disney characters, then there's an upcoming beauty drop that you'll absolutely need to snag. All of the information on where to get Bésame's Sleeping Beauty makeup collection and what's in it is below, so prepare to freak out because it's magical AF.

Bésame has been teasing the collaboration on their Instagram page for a week now, posting cryptic videos of glittery purple satin and blooming rose motifs. "Please oh please oh pleassssseee let it be a Sleeping Beauty treat!!!! 🙏🙏🙏" commented one user on the rose video. "The suspense is killing me! Can't wait!!" commented another.

Luckily, the wait is over, with the brand having revealed that Princess Aurora is, in fact, the muse of their newest collection. "JUST ANNOUNCED! We are thrilled to share our new collection, our latest collaboration with Disney... Sleeping Beauty: The 1959 Collection," the brand wrote in an Instagram post. If you're not familiar with Bésame, they recreate modern reproductions of classic luxury makeup from the 1920s, '30s, '40s, and '50s to bring a super unique twist to your beauty cabinet. Seeing as this one is inspired by 1959, the year Sleeping Beauty was released, it boasts an extra special vintage charm.

As for what's in it, the collection includes everything from an eyeshadow palette to a handheld mirror and everything in between. Take a look at the lineup below and decide which pieces you'll want to shop once it becomes available to shop at besamecosmetics.com on August 23.

Bésame

First up is the Aurora Translucent Powder, which boasts bubblegum pink undertones that make it feel especially whimsical. It arrives in mirrored boxy packaging and includes a puff pad for easy application.

Bésame

Next up is the eyeshadow palette, which looks like a bejeweled and gilded Sleeping Beauty book when closed. Shades range from a light powder blue to a lime green to a selection of rosy nudes.

Bésame

Three lipsticks are also included within the collection, each of which comes in a Sleeping Beauty branded bullet. There's "Sleeping Beauty Pink," a light dusty rose; "Make it Pink," a Maleficent-esque magenta; and "Make it Blue," which references the color of Aurora's blue dress.

Bésame

The aptly named Briar Rose Blush Palette comes with two pink blushes (one fit for Aurora and one for Maleficent) and two highlighters in different hues. A cute motif of trees and animals appears on its inner mirror.

Bésame

To round out the makeup offerings, there's a tiny vintage-looking gold locket but instead of housing a photo, it houses a cream rouge. Talk about cutely-concealed convenience!

Bésame

And of course, let's not forget about the handheld mirror! Boasting a golden metallic finish that's decorated with red, green, and purple stones, it feels all kinds of glamorous and enchanted. Sleeping Beauty is scrawled across the back of the mirror, while beautiful designs are also etched on the handle.

The collection is a total beauty fairytale, so if you see something you like make sure you shop it as soon as it drops.

Another day, another celebrity launching a beauty brand. Seriously, there must be something in the water. Last week, Ciara reportedly dropped hints that she has a makeup and skin-care company in the works. Then, Selena Gomez filed a trademark for a range of beauty products — including fragrances, cosmetics, body care, skin care, hair care, and nail products — with the focus still TBD.

MAC Teams Up With K-Beauty Star Park Hye Min AKA Pony on Pony Park Collection - Allure Magazine

Posted: 22 Aug 2019 09:05 AM PDT

Park Hye Min, better known as Pony, is the ultimate K-beauty multi-hyphenate. Hailing from South Korea, Park's résumé includes model, content creator, makeup artist, and author. The list definitely goes on, but you probably get how influential she is with those titles alone. She just added another one, though: MAC collaborator.

The beauty brand just announced it's dropping a Pony-approved collection in September called Pony Park. The 17-piece line encapsulates the dreamy aesthetic that her 5.2 million YouTube subscribers try to recreate every day, thanks to her tutorials.

"My collection with MAC is super meaningful to me in that I am able to bring K-beauty, Korean culture, and Asian beauty and culture to the global market," Pony shared in an official statement from the brand.

The star accents Pony loves to incorporate in her eye makeup are reflected in the collection's celestial-themed packaging. According to a press release from MAC, the designs on the compacts and tubes were also inspired by tarot cards.

As mentioned in her statement, Pony also tied in major Korean makeup trends in the formulas she selected. The nine shades of the Matte Lip Mousse ($20) will give you Seoul's beloved velvety, blurred lip look. I'm looking forward to trying out the wine-red hue called Off the Record. For more of a high-shine lip look that K-pop stars have been loving lately, the sheer pink Plenty of Pout Plumping Lip Gloss will do the trick.

For emulating Pony's signature twinkling lids, the Eye Shadow x 8 Palette ($35) gives you, well, eight options of neutral, warm-toned hues to try out. You can seamlessly blend them with the sun-stamped Duo Fibre Eye Shader Brush ($35) and finish off the look with the false lashes called Lash Ketu ($19) included in the collection.

Of course, Pony Park touts some glass skin-inspired products, too. You'll be able to sweep on the two brand-new shades of the popular Extra Dimension Skinfinish ($37), a mega-watt highlighter, with Pony's limited-edition Face Powder Brush ($58). Then you can lock in your whole look for the day with the latest Prep + Prime Fix+ iteration ($30), which features flecks of prismatic pearl shimmer.

According to a post Pony shared on Instagram for her 6.6 million followers, the collab has been in the making since 2016. In a caption she wrote in both Korean and English, she revealed that the concept was completed in December 2018, and the video and photoshoots to promote the products were shot in April of this year. Knowing this collection has been in development for three years makes me even more excited to try out the final products.

This Kaja Wink Stamp Wing Liner Review Proves Winged Liner Doesn't Have To Be Difficult - Elite Daily

Posted: 22 Aug 2019 11:31 AM PDT

I like to think I'm ~good at makeup~, but winged eyeliner has never really been my strong suit. At the height of the Instagram liner trend, when a fierce cat eye flick rivaled LeBron James's wingspan in length, my hooded lids and unique eye shape proved difficult to draw on, and my not-so-steady hand often resulted in me ditching the look and going for a smudged-out lashline instead. When I heard about a new tool on the market designed to make winged liner a breeze, I knew I had to do a Kaja Wink Stamp Wing Liner review to see if it really did the trick. Let's put it this way: If I can do it, anyone can do it. Did I do it, though? That's between me and the next few parargaphs — and you, if you choose to keep reading.

Beauty stamps aren't really anything new, with Milk Makeup's Tattoo Stamp being perhaps the most iconic, but when it comes to stamping on eyeliner, I can't remember a brand ever really taking this approach. Whenever I attempt a cat eye, the following antics persue: One wing looked fine, the other a wee bit larger, and by the time my too-much gene and I finish evening them out, they're massive enough to reach the tails of my eyebrows. Needless to say, it's never been my signature look, but as a lover of Kaja since the brand first debuted at Sephora, their Wink Stamp Wing Liner ($25, sephora.com) really caught my attention.

The star of the two-step liner kit featured a dual-sided stamp, with tiny wings for both the left and right eye:

The kit also includes a basic liquid liner pen with a felt tip, to finish the job:

At first glance IRL, the stamp looked chubby and thick, not graceful and sharp like the ideal wing of my Instagram-inspired dreams:

And girl, seconds after stamping it onto my hand, the ink bled so much that I was terrified to try it on my eyes:

The skin on the back of my hand is super different than around my eyes and lashline, though, so I didn't let the stamp test deter me. After debating my options, I decided to start with the wing first and then draw on the rest of my liner to connect to it; this seemed easier than trying to match the stamp up with an already-drawn line.

Here's a crusty up-close of my linerless eyelids, for your viewing pleasure:

The application process is simple: You line up the stamp, press, and remove:

Because of my lid shape, I prefer a wing that is almost an extension of my lashline, instead of one too turned up, but the beauty of the stamp is that you can angle it however suits you best. You can also (Very carefully!) go back in for touchups. At first, my wing seemed a little short, so I pressed down again and emphasized the tip for a little extra length. I ended up really loving the shape and length.

Here's what my wing looked like on it's own. Not too shabby!

After that, I used the liner to finish off the look. I'm not a thick-black-band kinda gal, so apologies for my less-than-stellar fine lining:

Real talk, it looked damn good IRL, and seeing as I'm the worst at liner, I can imagine it looking flawless on someone who really can nail the second step with more precision.

BTW, my fear of bleeding ink was all for nothing. This baby stayed sharp and looked bomb:

Is this wing a true Instagram baddie flick? No, it's much smaller, and much more subtle. Is it the perfect little touch for an everyday beauty look? 100% Yes. Because I'm always running late, I wake up early to do eyeshadow so my eye makeup will look "done," but the thought of being able to throw on winged liner in minutes might really change the game for me. It was easy to apply, and the results are pretty but not over-the-top or try-hard, so it's safe to say the Wink Stamp will become a regular tool in my rotation.

Call me a cheater, but this is the only way I'll be doing winged liner from now on!

If you're curious to give the Wink Stamp and its smudge-proof, waterproof formula a go, you can shop it — and all of Kaja's other amazing goodies, peep the Bento Eye Triosonline and in stores at Sephora.

I've worked at hundreds of weddings — here are 16 of the most creative ways I've seen couples save money - INSIDER

Posted: 22 Aug 2019 09:04 AM PDT

A wedding is a joyful occasion, but also an expensive one.

This year, the average cost of a wedding is $38,700, according to a recent report, and the bridal industry is worth an estimated $72 billion.

Young couples today, however, have less money than their parents on average, and are often looking for ways to save on their weddings.

There are several ways that they do this, from spending less on engagement rings to taking advantage of that old "something borrowed" rule. The best thing to do is to determine which elements matter most to you, and save in other areas so that you can afford to go all-out on the important things.

Shop Well For Less: £2 mascara is a definite swap for Ellis – buy it here! - Reality Titbit - Celebrity TV News

Posted: 22 Aug 2019 02:25 AM PDT

Series 5 of Shop Well For Less? saw one of it's most difficult cases in the final episode on Wednesday, August 22nd with the Tulino family.

Steph McGovern and Alex Jones had a tough time convincing big spender Antoinette and her 14-year-old brand-loving daughter Ellis to swap for cheaper alternatives. They were worried that cheaper products would sacrifice quality and single mum Antoinette still wanted to get her kids the best money could buy.

One area where Antoinette was chucking her money was at Ellis' expenses. Her hair, wardrobe, makeup was costing the household thousands a year.

But Steph and Alex managed to find a new product for Ellis' makeup routine that made her realise that a big price tag doesn't result in high quality!

Ellis' mega makeup spending

Antoinette was spending an insane £2000 a year on Ellis' beauty products, clothes and other luxuries such as personal training sessions. She admitted to Steph and Alex that she's "weak when it comes to Ellis."

As they totalled up how much the Tulino family were spending, the Shop Well For Less? presenters realised that much of the household budget was going towards Ellis.

She spent a whopping £530 on leggings, £200 on makeup brushes and over £500 on makeup alone.

And one area that Steph and Alex targetted in their swap was Ellis' high-end beauty products.

£2 mascara is a swap

Ellis was not at all convinced with the swapped shampoo and conditioner. She said "I am not washing my hair with them products" and flat-out refused to give them a try.

But the mascara they switched was a real hit and Ellis was taken aback with how good the quality was. She even thought it was more expensive than her regular mascara.

Ellis said: "I like this mascara, it looks really nice on me. I didn't even put a lot on there and it makes my eyelashes look really natural."

The mascara seen in the episode which Ellis said was a definite swap was from Essence mascara and by swapping to Essence, the Tulino family could save nearly £230 per year!

Where can you buy Essence mascara?

The exact mascara seen was the 'All Eyes On Me Waterproof Mascara' by Essence which you can buy for just £1.84 per bottle here.

You can also find Essence's mascaras in Wilko's across the UK!

If you're after a cheaper alternative to the big high street makeup brands, Essence is a 100% the go-to choice.
