| Posted: 31 May 2019 12:00 AM PDT A Love Island hopeful spent thousands on cosmetic surgery in a bid to land a spot on the reality dating show - but failed for the fourth year in succession. Emily Dorrell, 27, has been trying to impress producers for years and after three rejections, decided to go under the knife to snare a spot on the show. The desperate wannabe told Closer Magazine she had undergone a boob lift, boob reduction and a Brazilian butt lift and 'squandered her house deposit' in attempt to make her TV dream come true.  When the Love Island villa doors open again in Majorca on Monday, Emily will be left in the UK as she tries to repair her life following her huge spend on surgery. Emily told Closer that she had the boob reduction because she didn't have the "skinny look you see on Love Island," as she was a "size 14 with JJ boobs." She was hoping that becoming an Islander could find her love but more importantly it would "kick-start my career," as she hoped to start a fashion line, the Mirror reports. Emily believed the surgery was "an investment in my future," as she had seen "girls like Olivia Attwood go on to have great careers and make money." 'Wasting my money on rent'Fortunately Emily says she "loves her new body," but with all her cash gone, she bemoans that she is "stuck wasting my money on rent." Emily claims she she is 'obsessed' with the ITV2 dating show and has been desperate to be a part of it. She has also dismissed that she could struggle with the mental side of the show and the attention that it brings. Emily said: "I've read about previous contestants suffering with depression afterwards, but I think I'm mentally strong enough, and I've got a great support network around me." After sending a message to the show's Instagram account, Emily was excited to receive a reply from a producer, who said they would look out for her application.  It was then that she decided to undergo surgery to enhance her chances of getting on the show. Looking to live the life of a reality star, Emily headed to a Marbella clinic for the six-hour operation, after it had been recommended by a Geordie Shore star. She admitted that her surgery hadn't met universal approval in her family. She revealed: "My mum was furious and told me I was being selfish... I did feel guilty about leaving my son behind with Mum – but I thought I was investing in a future for us if it would bring career opportunities."  |
